As Much as We can Bear

I hear it whenever someone is faced with a challenge of faith. “I don’t know if I can do it!” This statement of doubt isn’t a lack of faith, but a lack of understanding. We just don’t understand that God is our protector and comforter. He will not allow us to ‘go down the wrong path’ so long as we are in communion with Him. He will only allow as much as we can bear.

When You were transfigured on the Mountain, Christ our God revealing Your glory to Your disciples, as far as they could bear. Illuminate us sinners also with Your everlasting light, through the intercessions of the Theotokos. Giver of light, glory to You.

Hymn of Transfiguration

Today is the Feast of Transfiguration. Today we celebrate another revelation of Who Christ is. He is the Light of the World. He revealed to His disciples His glory, but only as much they could handle. That’s love! If Christ revealed His full glory that day, they would not have survived the trauma, so He protected them.

That is what I want you to know understand today about God’s love. He is always watching over us and wants to protect us. He is waiting for us to allow Him to do what He does best. He is waiting for us to ask Him to help, and He will help. That won’t mean we won’t struggle. The disciples struggled, even died for Him, but it was never more than they could handle.

You are stronger than you think. Keep praying that God will guide you. Keep praying that God will reveal Himself to you. Keep praying that He will shine His light on you. You can handle it with His help. He proved it before and He will prove it again.

    Only through prayer strength develops
Much easier and so does understanding.
