A cross sign in the middle of a sunset

Ancient Preparation for God’s People

There are many in the world who claim that ‘because other religions’ share similar elements of faith, then all faiths are man-made. Some examples of this include the global ‘flood event’ and various worship styles. Just because religions share common elements does not mean they are man-made.

It might be that God had planted the seed of His truth in all religions. Today is the commemoration of Saint Dionysios the Aeorpagite. He was present when Saint Paul preached in Athens about the “Unknown God”. This is an example of a ‘planted seed’ of truth. Some think the Greeks merely kept their options open by dedicating an altar to the “Unknown God.” This wasn’t the case.

As I offer in this lecture I present several years ago, the Greeks believed in a God that was above all Gods. He was unknowable to them, but they knew he existed. This was the ‘seed’ that God planted in their hearts. It was a natural transition from pantheism to monotheism once they had been introduced to the Unknown God.
